• Medical School 2008

Market research of prospective students currently studying biomedical science indicates strong support for the Gippsland Medical School (MBBS) which will be opening in 2008. More than half of the 32 respondents to a recent email survey stated they are interested in studying at the graduate medical school at Monash University Gippsland Campus. Plans are underway to host potential students at the Gippsland Campus to help them gain a better understanding of what the course will entail and what the region can offer.

The Staff Recruitment Working Party is currently defining areas of skills and expertise required to teach into the first year of the MBBS commencing in 2008. As soon as the curriculum is confirmed along with the required modes of teaching, staff at MUGC will be invited to express an interest in being involved.
