The all-day Gippsland Country Music Festival is returning to beautiful Mossvale Park (near Leongatha, South Gippsland) next April, boasting an impressive line-up of country stars, with hard hitter Kasey Chambers headlining.

Set amongst the backdrop of the famed green South Gippy hills surrounded by autumnal tones of some mighty deciduous trees, this music festival is going to sell out quick-sticks. Get your hot little hands on some tix and book your weekend in.

Jam-packed event that you cam make into a long weekend

The Gippsland Country Music Festival is held at leafy Mossvale Park in Berrys Creek, between Leongatha and Mirboo North, about 2 hours' drive from Melbourne. Nestled amongst verdant green hills, the picnic-perfect Mossvale Park is an oasis of green, red, orange and gold in autumn, thanks to some towering European trees.

It's not just about the music either. The event is jam-packed with entertainment, from whip cracking demonstrations, to line dancing classes, rides, market stalls and a host of delicious Gippsland food and drinks including Smokehouse BBQ, food trucks and onsite bars.

South Gippsland Drink Trail

Set out on the South Gippsland Drink Trail across a part of the world that was just meant for growing grapes and making wine. Lucinda Estate are makers of beautiful wines and ciders using organic heritage apples and pears.

Mirboo North

In Mirboo North, wander the main street to see gift shops and homewares, some excellent cafes, and murals dotted about the town centre. Work off lunch on the Lyrebird Forest Walk (4.8km loop) alongside a trickling stream through sun-filtered eucalypt forest. Swing through enchanting hilly countryside and eucalypt forest with a background track of birdsong on the 13km Grand Ridge Rail Trail (Mirboo North - Boolarra)

Meeniyan

Arrive in Meeniyan on an empty stomach and tuck into the local foodie scene. Trulli makes heavenly traditional Italian woodfired pizzas and a dinner menu that celebrates local produce. Moo's at Meeniyan is a warm, stylish cafe/ restaurant with exquisite food and a generous sun-drenched deck. South Gippsland beaches

In under an hour you can be at dreamy South Gippsland Beaches, including Walkerville, Waratah Bay, Sandy Point and the entrance of The Prom with miles of pristine sand, hidden coves and dramatic cliff top walks, studded with cosy coastal hamlets.
