Finance Workshop To Understand What Financiers WantA workshop designed to assist those in business or just starting out to better understand what financiers want, will be conducted by Latrobe City Council on Thursday 18 October at the civic centre in Kay Street Traralgon. By Latrobe City - 12th October 2007 - Back to News Latrobe City’s senior business development officer, Leo Billington, said that this eagerly awaited workshop is designed to make people aware about what financiers want when loan funds are required to start up a business.
"This process usually starts early in the planning stage or perhaps when a business is expanding. Some believe approaching a financier may be an intimidating experience, so this workshop can help others ensure a loan application is first rate and therefore can stand up to scrutiny," Mr Billington said.
"One of the most important aspects when applying for loan funds is the actual presentation of an application using relevant and timely data. In turn this will help the process more effectively where a probable financier can make an informed decision on funding requirements."
The workshop is funded by the Minister for Consumer Affairs from the Estates Guarantee Fund and co-ordinated by the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development as the ‘Under New Management’ program. It deals with the essential, easy to understand financial elements to be understood when identifying and preparing relevant financial information for potential financiers.
According to Mr Billington, this workshop will be one of the last for 2007 during which time, Latrobe City Council has provided over 22 workshops.
"We have been very pleased with attendances to our workshops, with attendees obtaining invaluable business knowledge covering marketing, strategic business planning and networking.
"Likewise, Thursday’s workshop will provide relevant business knowledge, particularly to assist loan applications. A poorly prepared application could well indicate a lack of dedication and/or understanding of finance which may not impress a possible financier," Mr Billington said.
The What Financiers want workshop commences at 5.30pm on Thursday, 18 October, and is expected to finish at 7.30pm. The cost for this workshop is $10 and includes a complimentary workbook produced by the Victorian Government to specifically help anyone in business.
Bookings are essential. For further information, please contact Leo Billington, telephone (m) 0407 541 258.
