The festival, which is to be held at the Latrobe Regional Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon, will be a three-day event celebrating all aspects of theatre including performance, costumes, make-up, music and dance. Gippsland theatre groups will be given an opportunity to come together and work on producing an extravagant production, showcasing the breadth of talent in the Gippsland region.

A weekend of entertainment across five sessions from Friday to Sunday will include such things as one act plays, dramatic performances, workshops, dance, music, make-up and costumes.

Festival director, Dan Clancey is pleased with the enthusiasm that participating groups have exuded. "This festival gives these performers an opportunity to play to different audiences across the region and to work with other companies that they may have never dealt with, the production crews who work non-stop behind the scenes year in and year out are able to lighten their workload, as the festival is providing venues, advertising, local government liaison and technical assistance and support." Mr Clancey observes "The festival, if you like, is providing the vehicle and the performers and production crews can enjoy a walk up, perform and walk away experience; something which has not been seen before."

Participating Theatre groups include: Break a Leg Theatre Group, Latrobe Theatre Company, MoARTZ, Twilight Theatre Factory, Class Act Productions, Wishbone Theatre, Curtains for Certain ensemble, Here There and Everywhere Theatre Co, Dance Limits school of excellence, Kurnai College and Trafalgar High School drama groups.

Professional development workshops will be held throughout the weekend and will include cover such aspects as: The Audition Process, Acting Skills, Vocal training, Stage Make-up, Costume Design, Lighting and Sound and The Business of Theatre in Gippsland.

A major highlight of the weekend will be Sunday evening’s session with Darren McCubbin. This will include an improvised play followed by Theatre Sports. This session will be free to anyone who has attended any previous session.
