Community Forum A Success Community Forum Last Saturday a community forum was held for members of the Leadbeater Ward to share their community planning experiences. By Bass Coast - 11th April 2011 - Back to News Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Veronica Dowman, said projects discussed by the community planning groups include a feasibility study for a skate park in Grantville, improving the Norseman’s Beach Reserve at Coronet Bay and an Avenue of Honour in Bass.
"Over 40 people attended the forum which reflects the importance of these plans to the communities," said Cr Dowman.
"The forum was a way of giving communities the opportunity to talk not only about their community plans but also share their community planning experiences.
"Communities put so much effort into these plans and this is a great opportunity to showcase their work," said Cr Dowman.
The communities represented at the forum were from Archies Creek, Corinella, Coronet Bay, Grantville, Kernot, Pioneer Bay, Bass and Tenby Point.
"The afternoon was quite inspiring," said Cr Dowman.
"We heard about some wonderful achievements and ambitious projects for the future.
"The communities celebrated their successes, the hurdles they faced along the way and the strategies they used to overcome these hurdles.
"It was also a great networking opportunity for the communities," continued Cr Dowman.
