South Gippsland Water invites young artists from Kindergarten to Grade 6 to join the 2023 National Water Week Poster Competition. Embrace the theme "United by Water" for a chance to win prizes and contribute to water awareness.
South Gippsland Water is thrilled to invite young, creative minds from 4-year-old Kindergarten up to Grade 6 to participate in the statewide National Water Week Poster Competition for 2023. Robert Murphy, Managing Director, eagerly anticipates National Water Week, marking it as a significant event in our schedule. He highlights that it gathers community members and water sector representatives to jointly celebrate water, an invaluable resource that we all share.
Celebrate water's significance, creativity, and youth education, join and submit by 5 PM, 1 September, 2023, winners announced during Oct 16-22, 2023
Artistic water expression
Mr Murphy said, "Embracing this year's theme, "United by Water," we're excited to see how students translate this concept into dynamic, imaginative posters. We welcome children to let their artistic creativity shine, whether they use crayons, paint and pencils or digital tools. This year we are excited to extend the competition to 4-year-old kindergarten students."
"Prizes for students across various age categories range from $25 to $100 worth of art supplies. In addition, a lucky school or Kindergarten stands to win a $500 prize to be used towards a sustainability project, water-efficient products, or educational materials" he says.
Entries will be judged based on their communication of the theme "United by Water," visual appeal, effective use of art materials, and innovative design or concepts. A panel of South Gippsland Water staff will select the winners. For the second year, we've introduced an online portal to make submission easier than ever.
Competition information
