Clubroom Upgrade for Warragul Women
Completed upgrade project at the clubrooms, thanks to a $36,431 grant.
The members of the Country Women Association’s Warragul Branch are today celebrating the completion of an upgrade project at the clubrooms, thanks to funding from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing attended the new and improved clubrooms today to officially open the new clubrooms, which were made possible thanks to a $36,431 grant from the Labor Government through the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community and Facility Fund.
Upgrades included a kitchen re-fit, ceiling insulation, heating and cooling upgrades, electrical upgrades, rear fence replacement, new floor coverings and an accessible toilet.
These new facilities will allow the CWA to offer a new suite of activities, including kitchen demonstrations and cooking classes for the community.
The clubrooms are also used by a range of local community groups including Toastmasters, Hallmark Jewellery, a craft group and a group supporting women who are survivors of abuse.
The upgrade project engaged local contractors - including KG & TJ Builder, Andrew Gallagher Cabinet Maker P/L, Choices by Watsons, Bibby Vin Electrics P/L, Janda Plumbing & Gas Fitter, Baw Baw Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and AAD Fencing.
The Latrobe Valley Authority’s $20 million Community and Facility Fund is supporting community-led initiatives and partnerships that will help make the Latrobe Valley a better place to live.
