Gippsland Rotary Centenary House is located at the rear of the Latrobe Regional Hospital and is an accommodation facility supporting cancer patients and any family who has a seriously ill patient undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Latrobe City’s chief executive officer, Paul Buckley, said to accommodate immediate access between Centenary House and the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre for patient and visitors, Valley Drive was linked to Village Avenue, though remained temporarily unsealed.

"While this accommodated short-term needs, an estimate for a more permanent solution was prepared and the $180,000 resulting works, which included sealing, were funded through council’s 2006/2007 budget.

Latrobe City Council’s maintenance engineer, Jey Vyravipillai, said designs were carried out following consultation with the caravan park owners and the developers of Gippsland Rotary Centenary House.

"The road reconstruction works involved the widening of the existing road pavement, formation of table drains, construction of driveway culverts and sealing of the road surface.

The road reconstruction works were carried out by the City's contractor, Quality Roads Pty Ltd.
