Council Apologises For Street Numbering Error

Bass Coast Shire Council has issued an apology to 35 residents of Glen Alvie Road who have been advised of incorrect house numbers assigned to their properties.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 2nd May 2006 - Back to News

Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Allan Bawden, said during the road renaming, odd and even numbers were assigned to the wrong sides of the road through human error.

"35 residents would have received a letter advising them of a new house number due to the renaming of part of Grantville-Glen Alvie Road to Glen Alvie Road.

"The mistake is being rectified and new letters advising land owners of the correct numbers will be issued this week.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and will review our procedures to ensure this type of error will not happen again," advised Mr Bawden.

Should Glen Alvie Road residents have any concerns, please contact Council’s Geographic Information Systems Coordinator, Paul Lennox, on 5671 2211.
