Future Of Inverloch Netball BrightThe Inverloch Kongwak Football/Netball Club has successfully secured a $60,000 grant from Sports and Recreation Victoria’s Country Football Netball Grants Program to build a new asphalt court with flood lighting. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 6th July 2009 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Council’s Recreation and Leisure Planner, Ella Angarane, said the Inverloch court had been identified in the 2008 Netball Victoria Facility audit as the number one priority for upgrade in the Shire. "The club has been working very hard on the grant application," said Ms Angarane. "They have also been doing some amazing fundraising and will be contributing a significant amount of money to this project. "Getting the grant is a great reward for all their hard work. I’d particularly like to congratulate Lisa Butcher and Chris Rankin for really ‘driving’ this project. "Between them they have done a mountain of work," explained Ms Angarane. Committee member and past player, Chris Rankin, said it was a huge relief to know the club had the funding. "The current court is inadequate," said Ms Rankin. "By constructing a new court we will create a much better warm up space and a playing court that meets current Netball Victoria standards. "This is fantastic for the club, community and all our netballers coming through the ranks," said Ms Rankin. The grant will primarily benefit the Inverloch Kongwak Netball club which fields six teams in the Alberton Netball Association. Inverloch Primary School and opposition clubs also use the facilities.
