By Latrobe City Council - 24th November 2005 - Back to News

Destination Latrobe’s Tourism Co-ordinator, Linda Brock said that tourism industry visitors would be able to enjoy a full program including a trade show, workshops, and special presentations.

"There will be presentations by the Destination Gippsland Board, the Gippsland Sustainable Tourism Project, and an opportunity to hear the State Tourism Minister as well as have a networking lunch," Ms Brock said.

Ms Brock added that the workshops were being presented by tourism industry leaders Tom Smith and Katherine Cooper.

"Tom Smith, one of the most respected industry voices in Victoria, will be presenting the workshop on ‘Marketing for Profitability’. His style is not only informative but also very motivational. Katherine Cooper has been one of the driving forces behind the successful domestic and international cooperative marketing/packaging efforts of the Mornington Peninsula," Ms Brock said.

Ms Brock added that there were still some spaces available for the workshops and presentations.

"Workshops will take place in the Wellington Entertainment Centre theatre, and the very reasonable cost of $25 for both workshops also includes lunch," Ms Brock explained.

"The exhibitor sites are fully booked, and include accommodation operators, tourism service providers such as Latrobe Regional Airport and Brindabella Airlines, as well as organisations such as Parks Victoria, Tourism Alliance, Regional Tourism Organisations and wineries. Exhibitors are coming from across Gippsland so clearly this will be a good opportunity for visitors to get many questions answered," Ms Brock explained.
