Morning Music Program featuring Karen KnowlesKaren Knowles will launch the return of Morning Music to the Performing Arts Program with a performance on Tuesday 24 February at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon from 11am. By news@gippsland - 18th February 2004 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Box Office and Program Co-ordinator, Kathleen Roberts said that Karen’s performance career began with the award winning television program Young Talent Time.
"Through this popular show, she quickly achieved national recognition and acclaim for her weekly appearances and regular request segments. Success was swift. Karen soon made history by becoming the first Australian schoolgirl to receive a Gold record with her first Top Ten hit single Why Won’t You Explain. The following album You Are The Reason reached Platinum status, making her the highest selling female artist in Australia for two consecutive years," Ms Roberts said.
"Karen has maintained a regular live performance schedule, touring nationally and internationally over the last 25 years, as well as appearing in musicals, recording albums, working as an ambassador for Reconciliation Day, and appearing as a judge on the television show New Faces.
"As a regular performer for Morning Melodies programs around Australia, Karen brings with her star quality and a wide repertoire of songs," Ms Roberts concluded.
