Regional Events Fund grants up to $500,000 for marketing major open for Gippslanders to apply
Melina Bath, from The Nationals, urges eligible organisations to apply for Regional Events Fund grants. Up to $500,000 supports major events, while smaller grants aid marketing for intrastate and interstate visitor attractions.
The Nationals Melina Bath is encouraging all eligible organisations to apply for the next round of the Regional Events Fund grants. Grants of up to $500,000 are open to organisers of festivals, sports events, exhibitions, and more to attract and grow events of international or national significance, while grants of up to $50,000 will be available for marketing and support of events that attract intrastate and interstate visitors.
The Regional Events Fund boosts tourism and local economies through festivals, sports, and cultural events, enhancing Victoria's global events status
Regional events funding
Ms Bath said, "Eastern Victoria is home to many world-class events largely run by a volunteer base, and there is always a need for financial support to assist their management. Whether it be Farmworld at Lardner Park, Mirboo North's Italian Festa, Japanese weekend at Mt Baw Baw, the Phillip Island MotoGP, Moe Cup, a local rodeo, or new year's festivities on one of our spectacular beaches, there is truly something for everyone in eastern Victoria."
"Ensuring our events can attract as many people as possible is incredibly important for the economic future of our regional towns and local organisations, and this funding stream will assist with that. The Nationals want to showcase and attract more people to stay, play and eat in regional Victoria, and hosting successful events is central to achieving this."
"Events make our communities vibrant and support local hospitality and accommodation businesses. It would be wonderful to see as many communities as possible benefit from this funding to ensure eastern Victoria towns continue to receive the support they deserve," she said. Applications for the Regional Events Fund, delivered by Visit Victoria, can be made at Visit Victoria website from now until June 30.
