Driving Jobs in the Latrobe ValleyNew jobs and tens of millions of dollars in investment to grow the Latrobe Valley’s economy. By Portal Admin - 29th July 2018 - Back to News The Andrews Labor Government is creating hundreds of new jobs and securing tens of millions of dollars in investment to grow the Latrobe Valley’s economy.
Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll today visited Serco in Newborough to announce funding from the Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation Fund to set up a regional contact centre for the National Disability Insurance Agency – creating 100 new jobs.
The Labor Government is helping to create more than 930 new jobs and generate more than $87 million of private investment in the region through the Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation Fund.
Other companies to have previously shared in the $8.8 million of economic facilitation funding include Steelvision, Radford & Son, Victoria Valley Meat Exports, Mecrus and Riviera Farms.
The Labor Government is making record investments in the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland, with projects including the Gippsland Hi-Tech Precinct, the Latrobe Valley GovHub, new and upgraded TAFE campuses and the new Gippsland Tech School.
The Labor Government’s $266 million transition package for the Latrobe Valley is supporting economic growth and creating new jobs.
