Gippsland Trains Perfect Record of Failure
Perfect failure with VLine trains' punctuality.
Gippsland line trains did not meet their on time targets once last year.
New data from Public Transport Victoria shows that under Labor, the Gippsland service recorded a perfect fail, with trains failing to meet the 92 per cent punctuality target every month for the past 12 months. A train is late when it arrives more than six minutes after its scheduled time.
Labor slashed $149 million from VLine’s operating budget this year, investing just four per cent of the state’s public transport spending in regional projects.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Regional Public Transport Steph Ryan
It’s little wonder commuters on the Gippsland line continue to suffer from delayed services when Daniel Andrews is cutting funding to VLine.
Labor is arrogantly taking regional communities for granted.
While Daniel Andrews pours billions of dollars into city projects, the rest of us are being left behind.

A reliable regional train network better connects us with Melbourne making it more attractive to live and work in our region or commute to the city – but instead we’re stuck on the slow train.
Local people and business owners deserve to have confidence they can get where they need to be when they need to be there, but that’s not the case under Daniel Andrews’ neglect.
Comment attributable to Member for Narracan Gary Blackwood
The Gippsland line has a reputation for running late and these figures confirm it.
The Andrews Government is sitting on its hands while the performance of the VLine network plummets, but at the same time Labor pours billions into cost blowouts on its Melbourne metro train projects.
