Bass Coast Shire Council Elections

An information session for prospective candidates for Bass Coast Shire Council elections will be held at 7:30pm on Monday 3 February at the Bass Coast Shire Council Chambers, Civic Centre, 76 McBride Avenue, (entry off Baillieu Street), Wonthaggi. The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC), which is running the election, will open an office in the Baillieu Street entrance of the Civic Centre on the same day.

Any interested person is welcome to attend. A representative from the VEC will conduct the session. People who attend will receive information about the election process. Nominations open on Thursday 6 February 2003 and close at 4pm on Tuesday 11 February 2003.

Local government elections will take place via postal vote from Tuesday 25 February. Votes must be lodged by Friday 14 March. Results will be declared on Saturday 15 March.
