Flood plain residents requested to advise contact details

Latrobe City Council is currently in the process of updating the contact details for all residents living in the Traralgon Creek Flood Prone Area, or adjacent areas.

By Latrobe City Council - 16th August 2006 - Back to News

Latrobe City’s municipal emergency co-ordinator, Lance King, said that property owners had been sent letters requesting the contact details of the occupier/resident of the residence or buildings.

"Latrobe City needs to update its records in order to inform the occupier/

resident of flood warnings as early as possible. To date, council has received over 250 responses from the mail out, but there are many more properties that we need to confirm details for," Mr King explained.

"Property owners are kindly requested to get in touch with council with the contact details urgently to facilitate the updating of the Traralgon Creek Flood Warning System," Mr King said.

"The 1993 and 1995 flooding of Traralgon Creek greatly affected the Traralgon community and with increasingly changeable climatic conditions and more unpredictable storm behaviour, it would be prudent for residents to return this information to assist Latrobe City's commitment in ensuring the safety of the community," Mr King concluded.
