New Ventnor Path Complete

Construction of the new shared footpath from the Anchorage Caravan Park on Ventnor Road to the foreshore car park at the end of Anchorage Road was completed during February.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 21st April 2009 - Back to News

According to Bass Coast Shire Council’s Infrastructure Director, Steve Piasente, works completed include construction of the path, installation of holding rails, drainage and road signs.

"The new shared footpath provides a safer route for walkers and cyclists," said Mr Piasente.

"Previously, people had to use the side of the road or the nature strip to walk to the foreshore beach."

The footpath project forms part of the Ventnor Infrastructure Master Plan which aims to improve public infrastructure such as pathways, lighting and streetscapes in the Ventnor area.

The 900 metre Anchorage/Ventnor Road path has been constructed using local packed gravel and is two metres wide. Council invested approximately $100,000 in the project. The project was completed by ADA Construction Services.
