Morwell Electorate Benefits From Regional Growth Fund • The Victorian Government¡¦s Regional Growth Fund investment in Latrobe City has reached the $15 million mark on projects with a total value of $47 million. By Russell Northe - 15th January 2014 - Back to News Member for Morwell Russell Northe said a number of exciting projects had been delivered and he looked forward to more in 2014.
¡§This fund really has stimulated an enormous amount of projects, not only in Latrobe City, but all around regional Victoria,¡¨ said Mr Northe.
In Latrobe City, the Regional Growth Fund has invested approximately $15 million towards 47 projects with a total investment value of $47 million, including:
„h $190,000 for Infrastructure improvements at Victory Park Traralgon
„h $800,000 towards the development of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail
„h $326,500 towards a pallet and wood treatment upgrade at Fishers Timber Morwell
„h $400,000 for the re-surfacing of the Traralgon Tennis Courts complex
„h $490,000 for the External Electricity Line Upgrade at Lion Dairy Morwell
„h $280,000 for the Capability Improvement Project at Hydro Australia
„h $250,000 towards new packaging equipment at Pinegro Morwell
„h $173,800 for infrastructure purchase, development and production at Victorian American Imports Traralgon
„h $250,000 for an Expanding Capability Project at Steeline Gippsland
„h $50,000 for the construction of a casual dining facility at Narkoojee Winery in Glengarry
„h $150,000 towards Advanced Manufacturing Processes at Morwell Shopfitters
„h $200,000 for Business Diversification Project at STR Inspection Services Traralgon
„h $340,000 for amenities upgrade at the Yallourn North Town Hall
„h $140,000 for to build a heritage walk around Kernot Lake Morwell
„h $70,000 for the Commercial Road Park Development Morwell
Acting Premier and Minister for Regional and Rural Development, Peter Ryan, said the Regional Growth Fund leverages co-investment from business and all levels of government into community-led regional projects to produce jobs and benefits for country communities.
¡§Other components of the Regional Growth Fund have created many more regional jobs.
¡§When the regions do well, Victoria does well. That¡¦s why the Regional Growth Fund was established ¡V to deliver for country Victorians,¡¨ Mr Ryan said.
