Get Your Group ListedBass Coast Shire Council is inviting community groups to be part of the 2008 Community Directory. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 27th August 2007 - Back to News Council’s Acting Arts & Leisure Coordinator, Jenny Milkins encouraged local groups to get involved.
"If your group provides a community service, then we want you to be part of this directory," said Ms Milkins.
"To be listed, you simply need to contact Council and fill out a form by 14 September.
"This is a great way to promote what you do and will make it easier for people to find your group," continued Ms Milkins.
"It is a really valuable resource for the community."
Council has provided an on-line directory as part of its website for many years. This year it will be expanded to a hard copy version as well.
"A hard copy version of the directory will be out in December," said Ms Milkins.
"It will be distributed through our Customer Service Centres, libraries, leisure centres, general stores and community groups.
"You can also ask for a copy to be mailed direct to you," confirmed Ms Milkins.
A listing in the new directory will include contact details for community groups. There will also be the option for groups to give a 25 word description of what they do.
"I’d really urge groups to get a form, fill it in and return it to us by 14 September," said Ms Milkins.
"Your group will be listed on our website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au and will be part of the printed directory.
"You can also ask for copies of the directory to distribute to your members."
