Construction has kicked off with new Wonthaggi Soccer Pavilion and set to be completed in June 2023
An exciting, high-quality sports facility has kicked off in Bass Coast Shire, as construction of the brand-new Wonthaggi United Soccer Club soccer pavilion begins.
The $870,000 build is funded by Bass Coast Shire Council, Sport and Recreation Victoria plus Wonthaggi United Soccer Club. The investment reaffirms Council's strong commitment to improve sport and recreation access across the Shire. Located within the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve, the Wonthaggi Soccer Pavilion is expected to be completed in June 2023. The project will provide a modern base for over 100 regular players and 30 referees. Fixtures include modern change rooms, showers, toilets, kitchen and storage area.
Bass Coast Shire wishes to advise of the construction of a new Wonthaggi Soccer Pavilion within the Wonthaggi Recreation reserve commencing in October 2022
Providing an advantage
The revamped pavilion will also provide an advantage for hundreds more recreational and outdoor sport users. Council recognises that it can be a challenge to deliver the necessary works and not affect key recreational users, especially when work can be impacted by weather conditions and other factors.
Council advises that while works are underway the local community can expect vegetation removal and clearing, plus traffic and pedestrian control measures. This will ensure full safety in and around the construction zone, especially given the use of heavy, noisy plants and machinery.
TS Constructions Pty Ltd scored the appointment by Council to captain the build. Keep up to date and learn more, visit Engage Bass Coast - Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve page.
