Labor government backs Moe's Ted Summerton Reserve upgrades with major investment in cricket, football and community facilities

Works have begun on Moe's Ted Summerton Reserve, delivering oval upgrades, lighting, new changerooms, and improvements through the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, boosting community sport, events, jobs, and local participation.

In a win for local sports fans, works have now begun at Moe's premier cricket and football venue, thanks to the Allan Labor government. Representing the Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence, the Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today visited Ted Summerton Reserve to officially mark the start of works, funded through the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.

Upgrades are underway at Moe's Ted Summerton Reserve, delivering new oval surface, wickets, lighting, pavilion upgrades, changerooms, and accessibility improvements

Sporting hub revitalised

Gippsland construction company Langden Constructions is leading the works at the site, with Evergreen Turf undertaking the oval redevelopment. Improvement works at the reserve include redevelopment of the oval surface, including the cricket wickets, new lighting, electronic scoreboard and sight screen, accessibility improvements across the reserve, plus new changerooms, refurbishment of the existing pavilion and new undercover terracing.

Home to several local sports clubs, Ted Summerton Reserve has also hosted pre-season AFL and AFLW matches and Big Bash League cricket. These upgrades will help increase sports participation and improve the region's capacity to host events - supporting local jobs and businesses. The Ted Summerton Reserve upgrades are expected to be completed in late 2026.

Upgrading Ted Summerton

The Ted Summerton Reserve project is one of four Regional Sports Infrastructure Program projects in the Latrobe Valley region, including the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium, Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park and Morwell Gun Club.

Investing in Moe

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said, "Ted Summerton Reserve is an important hub for the community in Moe and the wider region and we've made a range of improvements to it over recent years - these further works will make a huge difference to one of the most popular and well-loved grounds in the region."
