The hype is real - Omeo MTB Park is almost ride-ready and it's gonna serve up some epic flow. Years in the making, this epic project has teamed up Council, contractors, land managers and the local crew to build a world-class trail network that's set to draw riders and boost the region all year round. 
Omeo MTB Park features Blue Roo, Boulder Dash, Offgrid, Pendulum, Boundary Rider, and Crank Dog trails, blending history, views, and thrilling freeride challenges Omeo trail highlightsSome loops that are set to get the adventure loop junkie excited - Blue Roo and Boulder Dash (XC8) and Offgrid (XC9) - offer narrow Blue and Blue/Black trails that take riders through areas of historical significance - and we're looking at installing signage for riders who want to know more. Across the park, Pendulum (GR5), Boundary Rider (XC14) and Crank Dog/Miss Adventure (XC15) are coming alive. GR5 is a rare Black Diamond freeride trail - 3.5 km of wide trail and huge jumps leaving riders thinking they have flown over to Whistler! At the end of Pendulum, riders get the opportunity to step it up a notch on Bangarang, a Double Black freeride trail, culminating in an 11m road gap or have a fun berm flow finish on the lower section of Flomeo. Boundary Rider (XC14) and Crank Dog (XC15) carve through Sam Hill, with Crank Dog dropping into Miss Adventure, a Blue flow trail for the downhill fans. Riders of Crank Dog will be rewarded with beautiful views of Benambra and Lake Omeo. Don't be fooled into taking your DH bike out on Miss Adventure though as you'll need to tackle Crank Dog, a 10km climb, back up to the Sam Hill summit.

Built predominantly by an all-female crew, Miss Adventure delivers a Blue flow trail that blends fun, style and scenic lines. The loop can be accessed directly from town or via the shuttle drop-off at Sam Hill. While the trails are mostly finished, signage and minor touches are still being finalised. Hold off riding until the official opening - missing signage could make it tricky if you get lost or injured. This loop adds another layer to Omeo's offerings, giving riders a progression-friendly Blue trail at the heart of Sam Hill.
Set for a ribbon cuttingMark your diaries - the official opening of the Omeo Mountain Bike Trails is happening this December. With Stage 2 almost complete, the network stretches for well over 100 kilometres, offering everything from easy family loops along Livingstone Creek to thrilling gravity runs off Mount Sam and Mount Mesley. This project has already put Omeo on the national mountain biking map. It is not just about riding - it is attracting visitors, creating jobs and giving locals even more to enjoy.
Wrapping it with a bowFinal touches - signage, trail prep and facilities - are being wrapped up ahead of the September school holidays. Livingstone Park now offers a complete trailhead experience with showers, change rooms, maps, bike wash, barbecue facilities and even a swimming hole to cool off in after a hot dusty ride! The network offers something for everyone, showing what's possible when Council, contractors and the community work together. Bike rails installedOmeo now has six new bike rails around town, with a seventh planned for Hilltop. Whether you're grabbing a pie at Pippa's Bakery, a coffee at The Golden Age, or bao buns at New Rush, your wheels are secure. These practical additions make it easy to explore the town while checking out local businesses. Local riders have even spotted a couple of horses hitched to them! Community planning underwayCouncil is working on the Omeo District Place Plan, with workshops planned for October-November 2025, alongside the ongoing Omeo Justice Precinct Masterplan. Meanwhile, the Day Avenue streetscape revitalisation is underway with new trees, stone seating, improved footpaths, and upgraded public toilets and picnic areas coming together to make Omeo even more welcoming for riders and visitors alike.
Shuttle updateLong-awaited news for riders: official shuttle operators are almost ready to roll, and we are finalising legal agreements with an official announcement coming very soon! The shuttles will make gravity-fed runs, family rides, and beginner sessions more accessible, while supporting inclusivity for all. Official launch news is coming soon!
Gippy Girls CanWomen and girls, don't miss Gippy Girls Can at Omeo MTB Park on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. The Fastline Bikademy will run mountain bike skills workshops for ages 9 and above.
