Carnival future planning

All use, development and works on marine and coastal Crown land require consent under the Marine and Coastal Act 2018. Securing long-term approval would support forward planning and infrastructure investment, helping ensure the carnival remains safe, enjoyable and beneficial for both the local community and visitors.

Feedback is being sought on the proposal to continue the carnival in its current location, as well as on opportunities to improve the event. Community members are encouraged to share ideas relating to:

  • Event layout and design
  • Activities and experience offerings
  • Timing and duration of the carnival
  • Accessibility features to support inclusive participation

Community input will help inform Council’s application and guide future improvements to the carnival experience.
