Baw Baw Shire opens applications for artists seeking up to $2,000 grant through Arts and Culture Fund Program, apply by 28 October 2026

Baw Baw Shire is inviting local artists and creatives to apply for up to $2,000 through its Arts and Culture Fund, supporting projects that strengthen creative practice and community participation.

Baw Baw Shire is calling local artists and creatives to apply for up to $2,000 in funding through council's Arts and Culture Fund program. The Arts and Culture Fund supports local creatives to grow their creative practices and contribute to the arts in our community.

Applications open 1 October and close 28 October 2026, supporting creatives with small grants to develop their practice, projects and local community contributions

Arts fund supports creativity

Baw Baw Shire Council Mayor Councillor Kate Wilson said the program has helped enrich our community. "Over the past two years, our Arts and Culture Fund has supported 21 projects - from live music to ceramic workshops and everything in between. We know how important art and creativity are to our health and the enrichment of our lives. We want to help bring the community's creative ideas to life," Cr Wilson said.

The fund is designed to support projects that:

• Help grow creative projects in the community
• Add value to the local creative community and/or to their own work
• Help to develop the local arts community
• Provide the wider community with the chance to experience and/or participate in the arts
• Create opportunities for creatives to work together with other artists, residents and local community groups on projects

Eligible applicants can apply for a monetary grant of up to $2,000 to support their work.

Arts funding applications

Applicants are required to attend one of the following information sessions or meet with the Coordinator Arts & Culture prior to applying.

• Wednesday 30 September 2026 | 5:30pm (online)
• Thursday 15 October 2026 | 5:30pm (online)

Applicants can register to attend an information session with an online form or email creativearts@wgac.com.au to arrange a separate meeting time. A link to the application form will be sent to attendees following their chosen information session or meeting.
