Gippsland Portal Local News: East Gippsland RSPCA Branch wish listRSPCA Branch needs public support By Jack Whadcoat - 17th February 2002 - Back to News Tell us your opinion See what others have said The East Gippsland RSPCA Branch is going from strength to strength after three years of life. We are now running the East Gippsland Shire pound and a combined animal shelter. To support this we have opened two resource centres, one- in Shop 5 Centrepoint Arcade Lakes Entrance and one at 373 main Street Bairnsdale
WE would welcome donations of articles for sale and these can be left at the centres. Our wish list is now getting shorter but there are items required which will make our work in animal welfare far more efficient. Items required are Fax machines, Bar fridge, Computer with printer, and a vehicle to transport animals such as a ute or van in reliable condition.
If anyone can help with these we welcome a call to 51565529 anytime.
Volunteers to work in the shop or shelter are very important and the work is very rewarding although no pay in money terms is available, just a love for helping animals.
Drop in to either shop or ring for more information Lakes 51554422, Bairnsdale 51521046
Rehousing of animals has been wonderful over the time we have been running the pound and now these lucky animals are enjoying a life of security where once they were either neglected or were no longer able to be kept.
The work of the RSPCA is very much required here and now Gippsland has it's own RSPCA inspector based in Bairnsdale . This means complaints and advice can be obtained quicker than before.
