The Gippsland Portal Offers Prizes In Fight For Fair Prices

Gippsland’s official website, Gippsland.com is standing with the community in its battle to bring fuel prices back down to earth with a new community driven project. Dubbed the Gippsland.com FuelWatch, it is an application that highlights the cheapest fuel prices and vendors for Gippsland, overall and per region.

FuelWatch offers a history of prices entered per fuel station so that you can monitor how your local station is faring against other local outlets. With FuelWatch you can see overall price trends and ensure that you fill up with the cheapest fuel in your area next time. The Gippsland Portal is the only place where you can find all of this information.

Currently, the figures in FuelWatch are updated by the Gippsland Portal team and a handful of regular users dedicated to raising awareness and bringing the outrageous prices down. In order to provide accurate daily updates on fuel prices and cover a larger area of Gippsland, the Gippsland Portal is sending out a message to all Gippslanders to keep an eye on the prices of their nearest station and list the prices online. The service is free and beneficial for every member of the driving public.

Prizes Offered For Submission Of Fuel Prices

To encourage the community to get involved in the FuelWatch project, every visitor to the website that updates the price of fuel for any Gippsland station will go into the draw to win one of three fuel vouchers to the value of $20.00.

Visitors are welcome to update FuelWatch prices as often as they wish. The winner will be chosen at random from Gippsland Portal members who update fuel prices, so the more times you update fuel prices the better your chances of winning!

All you need to update fuel prices on the Gippsland Portal is an e-mail address and free member account, which you can sign up for on the website. Once you are a member, you can update fuel prices easily on www.gippsland.com/fuelwatch

This competition closes midnight 29 August 2002. The winner will be published on the FuelWatch page, and contacted by email on 2 September 2002. This competition is not open to employees of GREEN Inc. or Messenger Media & IT.
