Baw Baw Shire offers free green waste disposal to residents in preparation for fire season from November and December 2024
Baw Baw Shire Council offers residents free disposal of up to three cubic metres of green waste at four transfer stations from mid-November to December, preparing for fire season.
Baw Baw Shire Council will once again offer residents the opportunity to dispose of up to three cubic metres of acceptable green waste for free, as part of its aim to best prepare the community ahead of fire season. These are free of charge and can be made at one of four transfer stations across the Shire throughout mid-November and December.
Baw Baw Shire Council offers free green waste drop-offs at Erica, Lardner, Neerim South, and Trafalgar transfer stations on select days in November and December 2024 for fire season preparation
Free disposal service
Baw Baw Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Mark Dupe said that Council was proud to offer this free service, and hoped it reminded residents and property owners in Baw Baw to ensure their place was prepared ahead of fire season.
"You can never start this kind of preparation too early and I would strongly encourage community members to make the most of these free green waste disposal opportunities and use the chance to do a little tidy up around their homes, ahead of the warmer months" he said.
Free green waste drop offs are open to all Baw Baw Shire residents, whether they are the property owner or a tenant. As proof of residency, people are asked to bring a driver's licence, plus a rates' notice or utility bill showing their address.
