Fish Creek Football Netball Club devastated after fire needs recovery support from Minister for Community Sport
Melina Bath asks the Minister for Community Sport to aid Fish Creek Football Netball Club, devastated by a suspected arson, seeking funding for rebuilding amid its vital community role.
My question is to the Minister for Community Sport. In the wee hours of 4 November a tragedy happened to the Fish Creek Football Netball Club in which, in a suspected break-in and arson, the club was burnt to the ground. This club has been a famous club for its success, but it is also a wonderful club and very much the centre point of the community for decades and decades.
Early on November 4th, a suspected arson devastated the Fish Creek Football Netball Club, funding is needed to aid in rebuilding this cherished community hub
Town funding plea
This is a small town with a great fabric and a great community effort. Sadly, they are looking for funds. This is a club that will be willing to raise funds and do a considerable amount of in-kind support. I know my colleague Danny O'Brien has made representations to the Minister for Community Sport and specifically alerted her to Fish Creek Football Netball Club.
And I understand that there are new sporting grants around, so I ask the minister: will she take special interest in this very worthy cause and provide funding to the Fish Creek Football Netball Club to rebuild?
