Local dancer taps into successLocal dancer Dallas Flowers will wow the audience at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon this week when he performs in the smash hit tap show ‘BPM Beatsperminute’. By Latrobe City Council - 29th April 2005 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Performing Arts and Venues Co-ordinator, Kathleen Roberts said that Dallas began dancing at the age of 4 at his mother’s dance school, Vicki’s Dance Academy in Morwell.
"After learning all styles of dance, Dallas attended Bartuccio’s Dance Centre as a full-time Performing Arts student. It was during this course he progressed as a tap dancer, learning with ‘Tap Dog’, Paul Davis.
"Shortly after, Dallas was contracted with Royal Caribbean cruises, which took him around the world," Ms Roberts explained.
"Since returning, he has appeared in television commercials for Just
Jeans, Jetstar and more recently Cadbury Schweppes. Dallas’ television
credits also include the pre-game entertainment for the 2004 AFL Grand
Final and the AFI Awards in 2002.
"BPM Beatsperminute is Dallas’ first professional stage show and he is pleased to be making his debut in this funky and energetic show," Ms Roberts concluded.
‘BPM Beatsperminute’ is on at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon on Wednesday 4 May 2005 at 8pm. Tickets are available from the Box Office on 5176 3559.
