Local bands set to battle

Wellington Shire Council is urging local bands from across to enter the regional heat of this year’s Push Battle of the Bands competition to be held on 24 June at the Sale Memorial Hall.

By Wellington Shire Council - 11th May 2005 - Back to News

Battle of the Bands is a national competition run by The Push - a non-profit, state-wide youth entertainment organisation – and supported by local councils and community groups. Winners from each regional heat will proceed to the state finals where they compete for prizes.

Bands can register for the local heat by telephoning Wellington Shire Council’s Youth Services Trainee, Sam Wright on 1300 366 244 before 10 June.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Peter Gault: "There’s a lot of great, undiscovered musical talent in our shire and we strongly encourage local bands to enter the competition. This is a fantastic opportunity for local bands to put themselves in front of an audience and gain some much deserved recognition."
