funded by the Victorian Government. Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe said the new website improvements will allow more people the opportunity to connect with our ANZAC history. "Website users young and old can tap in to podcasts of lectures and important events, access digital stories of veterans, utilise the online educational resources or even take a virtual tour of significant military sites." The new website developments include new user-friendly, interactive, and educational tool features, as well as improved online access to archives, learning and volunteer opportunities, updated lists of upcoming events at the Shrine of Remembrance, as well as links to other veterans-based websites. Mr Northe said the Victorian Government was proud to have invested $50,000 towards the redevelopment of the website. "Since 1934, Melbourne’s iconic Shrine of Remembrance has been at the forefront in honouring the sacrifices of Australia’s war and peacekeeping," Mr Northe said. "Importantly, even more people in Victoria and around the world will have the opportunity to experience the Shrine of Remembrance in the comfort of their own homes, especially veterans and their families, people with a disability, students of disadvantaged backgrounds and others who otherwise may not be able to visit the Shrine in person." This initiative is part of the Victorian Government’s ongoing commitment to ensure the Shrine of Remembrance continues to be one of the most significant and sacred sites in Victoria and that the service and sacrifice of our veterans is passed on to future generations.
