Women’S Honour Roll Nominations Open Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe has encouraged Latrobe Valley women to nominate for the 2012 Victorian Honour Roll of Women to honour remarkable women in the community. By Russell Northe - 2nd November 2011 - Back to News Each year, the Honour Roll acknowledges and pays tribute to women from across Victoria who have succeeded through vision, leadership, commitment and hard work.
The new inductees will be announced during International Women’s Day celebrations in March 2012.
"The Victorian Honour Roll of Women recognises inspirational women who have made an impact at a local, national or international level," Mr Northe said.
"The women we honour are those who have made a personal contribution that has positive, lasting impacts for women and for the broader community.
"Women who have been honoured in the past come from a diverse range of fields, including health, science, law, social justice, arts, media and education.
"There are many inspiring and outstanding women who live and work in the Latrobe Valley who deserve to be recognised for the contribution they make to our region.
"If you know someone who is deserving of being included on the Honour Roll, I encourage you to nominate them for this distinction."
Since its inception in 2001 as part of Victoria’s Centenary of Federation celebrations, 478 women have been included on the Honour Roll.
The new inductees will be announced in March next year as part of International Women’s Day.
Nominations are open until 21 December 2011.
