Mr Northe said information is continually being provided to the community on Health, the Hazelwood Mine Fire, the respite centre in Moe and the Health assessment Centre in Morwell.

"Comments and responses from the community are being strongly conveyed by myself to the Coalition Government for attention and action," Mr Northe said.

Mr Northe is anticipating further announcements shortly on this major incident impacting the Latrobe Valley and in particular, the residents of Morwell.

"I have been pleased in recent days that the Minister for Health David Davis and today the Minister for Police Emergency Services and Bushfire Response Kim Wells have been able to visit our region," Mr Northe said.

Dust masks are available for community members from Latrobe City Council Headquarters, Commercial Road, Morwell, Morwell Library and the Morwell Leisure Centre
