Applications Open For Grants To Engage! Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe has announced that Latrobe Valley organisations supporting youth engagement can now apply for funding from the Victorian Coalition Government’s $12.3 million By Russell Northe - 23rd September 2011 - Back to News 2012-2014 Engage! program.
Under the Engage! program organisations can now apply for $30,000 to $50,000 in annual funding over three years.
Mr Northe said up to 50,000 young Victorians will benefit from the program each year.
"The Victorian Coalition Government is committed to supporting and encouraging greater participation of young people in social, economic and civic activities in our community.
"That’s why the Government is investing $12.3 million over the next three years in the Engage! Program.
"This funding is designed for community organisations and local government to develop programs that offer opportunities for young people to volunteer, develop education and employment pathways, as well as increase connections with their community and family.
"These activities could range from social enterprise programs to volunteering or mentoring.
"I encourage all community organisations and local governments, who are passionate about helping young people aged 12-25 years to make a difference in their community, to apply for the Engage! Program," Mr Northe said.
Engage! provides opportunities for all young people, including those who have additional needs or face barriers. Around 50,000 young Victorians are expected to benefit from the program each year.
