Cultural Consultations

Bass Coast Shire Council is encouraging the community to have a say into the future use and development of the Cowes Cultural and Civic Precinct.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 29th September 2008 - Back to News

Council has appointed consulting firm, Arup, to co-operatively manage the Precinct project and the community’s input will help update the previous masterplan for the site.

Acting Community and Economic Development Director, Felicity Sist, said Council was looking forward to hearing about the community’s vision and aspirations for the Precinct.

"The masterplanning process has already begun with a briefing meeting between Council officers on 30 September," Ms Sist said.

"The first community consultation sessions with the wider community and stakeholders will be held on 15 October.

"At this stage, we will be confirming the issues and whether current and future needs have altered since the last consultation process."

Non-resident ratepayers and visitors to Bass Coast are also invited to participate in the consultation process.

A detailed program of the consultation process will be available as soon as dates and venues are confirmed.
