GippsTAFE Manager Appointed to Victorian TAFE AssociationGippsTAFE Manager Education and Learning, Nita Schultz has recently been appointed to the Victorian TAFE Association (VTA) on a secondment basis for 12 months. The Victorian TAFE Association is a peak body representing TAFE institutes across Victoria By GippsTAFE - 16th December 2003 - Back to News Nita’s role at the VTA is CEO Council Executive Officer/Education Policy Consultant and she will work in conjunction with the CEO Council on education and funding related matters.
"My role is to assist the CEO Council and the Education Standing Committee and Funding Standing Committee. These groups are influential advocates for improvements for the benefit of the TAFE sector as a whole." said Ms Schultz.
"The work is extremely varied, and I am enjoying working across the whole TAFE sector. This position is giving me a totally different perspective of the issues facing TAFE and vocational education in general.
"I hope that my experience here will let me advocate on behalf of regional TAFE, and I also hope to be able to improve community and industry knowledge of the TAFE system."
"The appointment of Nita Schultz to such a prominent position with the VTA is a clear indication of the calibre of staff we have at GippsTAFE and the high esteem that they are held by the sector as a whole," said GippsTAFE CEO, Jeff Gunningham.
"Nita will add a great deal of value to the work of the VTA, but she will also benefit from the opportunity to participate at a more strategic level in the TAFE sector.
"Nita’s secondment to the VTA will benefit the Institute in that she will have the opportunity to work with all TAFE Institutes on a range of important projects."
Nita’s position within the TAFE sector has gone from strength to strength, last year being selected as only one of 38 to attend the prestigious Executive Leadership Institute in Arizona, USA.
