Summer swim season outdoor pool passes for Sale and Yarram extended to Easter Monday 18 April 2022 by Wellington Shire Council
Wellington Shire Council has extended all summer swim season outdoor pool passes for use at Aqua Energy's indoor pools in Sale until Easter Monday, 18 April.
While the summer swim season has ended at most pools across the Shire, passes will be valid for access to Aqua Energy's indoor pools, as well as Yarram outdoor pool. Wellington Shire Council Mayor Ian Bye said the decision to extend the passes' validity was made to acknowledge the challenges faced by pool users during the summer swim season.
Wellington Shire's outdoor pools were a popular place to escape during the region's humid summer, with almost 40,000 visits recorded during the season
Extending swim season pass
Cr Bye said, "Unfortunately there were some days during the summer season that we had interruptions due to Covid-related staff shortages and we were unable to open particular pools. It's been a challenging period, not only for pool users but also for staff at our facilities."
"We're extending the summer swim season pass and allowing pass holders to access our indoor pools at Aqua Energy as a way of acknowledging these difficulties and to thank the community for its patience." Cr Bye also said.
The summer swim season passes will also be valid at Yarram outdoor pool, which will remain open until 18 April, following a one-month closure during February and March to complete works on the Warmer Pool for Yarram Project.
