Council waives roadside grazing fee

Wellington Shire Council will waive roadside grazing permit fees to assist drought affected farmers.

By Wellington Shire Council - 8th November 2006 - Back to News

The plan gives farmers the opportunity to apply for a one or three year permit to graze stock on roadsides.

"Agriculture is an important industry to our shire and as a council we are working very hard to find ways to assist our farmers during this dry period" said Cr Malcolm Hole, Wellington Shire Council.

"This is the first time we are offering a free three year permit"

Landowners still need a permit and are required to meet the all safety guidelines and conditions set out in the permit.
