Watch election of Wellington’s new Mayor live on the Internet

Wellington Shire Council will be webcasting the election of its new Mayor live on the Internet.

By Wellington Shire Council - 7th December 2004 - Back to News

A Special Council Meeting is being held on Tuesday 7 December for the election, and the community is welcome to attend or to watch from their own homes.

The venue is the Wellington Room in the Port of Sale Civic Centre, 70 Foster Street, Sale, starting at 6.00pm.

Webasting the event means residents who would otherwise have to travel long distances to attend the council will be able to follow the proceedings live from the comfort of their own homes over the Internet at www.wellington.vic.gov.au

The meeting will also decide councillor membership on various committees and set the level of councillors’ allowances.

Said Wellington’s Chief Executive Officer Lyndon Webb: "Everyone is welcome to be a part of the evening’s proceedings, whether it be in person at the election meeting itself or over the Internet. They can even send their congratulations to the new Mayor via the chatroom."
