The Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Richard Rogers, Lorenz Hart, Oscar Hammerstein, Gus Kahn, Harren Warren and friends, profoundly influenced the works of composers throughout the twentieth century and filled our lives with unforgettable melodies.

In ‘Bagels to Broadway’ a heart-warming musical salute to these giants of the music industry, talented performer Hilary Henshaw puts these wonderful composers' lives and times into the context of their sensational music.

‘Bagels to Broadway, the story of Tin Pan Alley’ features at 11am on Wednesday 14 October at the Moe Town Hall.

Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts said New York's 28th Street, the famous ‘Tin Pan Alley’, was the birthplace of many of the world's most beloved songs.

"Hilary Henshaw’s ‘Bagels to Broadway’ takes the audience on an enthralling and dynamic journey to Tin Pan Alley. Beyond her beautiful singing, she has a wonderful gift of communication, and her magnetism and ability to move people's emotions is unique," Ms Roberts said.

"Featuring the songs and music of Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Oscar Hammerstein and many others, this very different, but original show puts the lives and times of these wonderful musicians into the context of their sensational music."
