Morwell Park Kindergarten opens its first classes on 7 February 2023 and enrolments are still open
Latrobe City Council has opened its new Morwell Park Kindergarten, with students attending their first day on Tuesday 7 February.
The Morwell Park Kindergarten is located next to Morwell Park Primary School and opened in line with the beginning of Term One, offering both three-year-old and four-year-old Kindergarten programs. Latrobe City Council now operates 25 kindergartens across the municipality. These kindergartens will host over 750 children through the four-year-old program and almost 400 children within the three-year-old program for the 2023 kindergarten year.

More opportunities for children
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said the new kindergarten is an exciting development for our younger generation. "Adding another kindergarten to Latrobe City means there are more opportunities for our children to build the foundation for their health and development."
"Having the kindergarten located at Morwell Park means local families can access necessary services at the one location. As the children progress their education it will also assist in the transition to school, with the Morwell Park Primary School next door." Mayor O'Callaghan said.
Free kindergarten
Mayor O'Callaghan added, "It was delightful to visit this week and see the new facility up close and personal. The facility is both beautiful and functional and will provide students hours of fun and learning in the new play areas, calm zones and building," said the Mayor.
The Victorian government announced that from 2023, free kindergarten will be available for all Victorian three and four-year-old children at participating services. To learn more about the kindergarten, visit council's website via Kindergarten and Preschool page.
