Darren Chester inspected the completed stage one of the Snowy River trestle bridge and pledged to secure funding for its completion, highlighting its tourism potential and the community's dedication to the project.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester inspected the completed stage one works on the Snowy River railway trestle bridge. Additional funding is required to complete the middle section of the project, and Mr Chester said he would continue to lobby all levels of government to support the project.
The community's dedication has driven this project forward, but more work remains. The restored sections offer breathtaking Snowy River views, drawing visitors to explore the region, says Darren Chester
Mr Chester said, "It's been a huge effort by the community to get the restoration project this far, and now we need to finish the job. The two completed sections at each end of the trestle bridge offer spectacular views of the Snowy River flats and will encourage visitors to stop and explore the region."
