Extra Parking For Parents In School Road

Baw Baw Shire Council has nearly completed car park works across the road from the primary and secondary schools, in School Road Trafalgar.

By Baw Baw Shire Council - 7th April 2006 - Back to News

Council Chief Executive Officer, Mr Glenn Patterson said the area had been a problem for parent and students before and after school. "Council decided providing additional formal parking would ease some of the traffic congestion around the schools particularly at these times.

"There will be approximately 60 parking spots available on the north side of school road, plus the existing parallel spots on the south side," said Mr Patterson. "Contractors will finish sealing the sections in the coming week and we expect it to be fully complete by mid April."

Council has worked with a number of primary school’s within the shire to implement the Walking School Bus program as a tactic to help ease traffic congestion. If you would like further information about the Walking School Bus Program, please contact Council Project Officer, Elizabeth Tomlins on 5625 0226.
