First in-person author talk post lockdown
A new book to finding a new way of being, from the author Laura Waters.
In-person author talks are returning to Latrobe City Libraries with travel writer Laura Waters presenting her book ‘Bewildered’ on Tuesday 23 March from 6pm, at Traralgon Library. Latrobe City Libraries coordinator, Victoria Whelan said that following COVID lockdowns last year, author talks and other face-to-face programming had to be postponed.

"This author was booked to present last year, just as the first lockdown was announced. Thankfully, Laura is able to finally make it to our Traralgon Library this month to talk about her experience of walking the Te Araroa trail in New Zealand," she said.
More than a travel piece, ‘Bewildered’ explores nature, relationships, mental health and wellbeing. For Laura, it took the implosion of a toxic relationship and a crippling bout of anxiety to ditch her life and take off into the wild. The book is her account of finding a new way of being.
A welcome relief in the community
Latrobe City Council Mayor, Cr Sharon Gibson said having in-person events back on the library calendar was both a welcome relief and a positive sign of confidence in the community. "We have been running our children’s programs at each branch for a few weeks and it’s been delightful to see happy young faces eager to learn and have fun. We’re gradually building a solid base of families returning to their local branch," she said.
"Although we are still limited with numbers of people who can attend, this author talk is a step in the right direction. Online events are a great way to access authors who may otherwise not be able to attend a local library, but nothing beats being in the same room as the presenter, asking questions and interacting, buying a book and getting it signed.
"All events are COVID-Safe with hygiene, physical distancing and registration requirements in place." Laura Waters will talk about her book ‘Bewildered’ at Traralgon Library on Tuesday 23 March from 6pm. Bookings are essential. There is a $5 admin fee. Tickets are available at Eventbrite Author talk.
