Battle of the Bands is a national competition run by The Push - a non-profit, state - wide youth entertainment organisation – and supported by local councils and community groups. Winners from each regional heat proceed to the state finals where they compete for prizes.

Bands can register for the local heat before 25 June by visiting the Wellington Youth Space at the Sale Memorial Hall on 28 & 29 June from 10am-4pm or by telephoning Wellington Shire Council’s Youth Development Officer David Roberts on 1300 366 244.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Jeff Amos: "There is some great musical talent here in Wellington. We strongly encourage local bands to enter the competition and take this opportunity to put themselves in front of an audience and gain some much deserved recognition."
