Volunteer Emergency Service Grants AvailableA new grants stream to provide new equipment, updated facilities and further education and training is now open to Victoria’s emergency services personnel. By Portal Admin - 3rd November 2016 - Back to News Member for Morwell Russell Northe said the Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability Grants Program was open to brigades, units, clubs and volunteers from the Country Fire Authority, State Emergency Service and Life Saving Victoria, along with marine search and rescue providers and other organisations identified in the Emergency Management Manual Victoria.
"Volunteers such as our dedicated fire fighters and SES members are the backbone of emergency services and they should be provided with the best equipment and training available," Mr Northe said.
"Emergency service groups are invaluable to our community and up-to-date equipment, facilities and training help save lives."
Emergency Management Victoria is offering a grant pool of $15 million to these organisations, with grants available for a range of programs and equipment:
Operational equipment
Facility improvements and maintenance
Community engagement and education
Training and Development (which includes program fees, travel and facility hire)
Other requirements that volunteers believe will develop their brigade, unit or club’s services to the community and enhance their sustainability.
"I strongly encourage our local emergency service organisations to apply and will gladly offer my support for anyone doing so," Mr Northe said.
