There will be no job losses and will continue to finalised these arrangement
Harriet Shing, ABC Gippsland, March 22- "We have indicated very clearly that we are very committed to making sure that jobs aren’t lost."
"And as a buyer of last resort Government has made it absolutely clear that the workers in Heyfield will not lose their jobs and will not lose jobs overall in the event that Government becomes a buyer of last resort, but also that we have to assist the company and that is where we have had those long, long negotiations …"
Jaala Pulford told Victorian Parliament on August 10
- "The owners of the mill have made an undertaking to the government that while these arrangements are finalised there will be no job losses. We continue to finalise these arrangements."
But a memo to employees at the Heyfield mill on August 14 indicated jobs were already being lost.
