WORLD precinct redevelopment in Bairnsdale gets $5M funding from previous federal government by Darren Chester
WORLD precinct redevelopment and transformation in Bairnsdale underway.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester secured $5 million from the previous Federal Government to get the project in after issues were raised about the safety of the existing netball facilities. "The redevelopment will see all netball courts replaced along with a new synthetic hockey pitch and turf pitch," Mr Chester said.

Facility transformation
Mr Chester said, "Over coming weeks the site will be a hive of activity as the netball courts are sealed and the synthetic pitch is installed which will absolutely transform this community sporting facility."
"This project is a testament to the hard work of the community for advocating for this project and this progress will be very exciting for them to see." Mr Chester said. East Gippsland Shire Council is also contributing funding and managing the project.
