Posters Create Prize Opportunities

Local primary schools have a great incentive to get creative with this year’s National Water Week poster competition, which is proudly supported by East Gippsland Water.

Prizes up for grabs include science experiment kits for students winning the regional round, while their schools will receive a worm farm. Winners will also be in the running to take out additional, exciting prizes at state level.

The competition is open to all primary schools in East Gippsland and encourages students to push out the boundaries of their artistic talent as they consider the importance of water and how to use it efficiently.

Said East Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Les Mathieson: "Students are encouraged to create a poster reflecting water-related issues that are important to them. If they can connect this with what we do at East Gippsland Water, so much the better. There is plenty of information on our website which they can use for inspiration.

"The artistic talent displayed by East Gippsland students over past years has been terrific, with a number going on to become statewide winners, so we are greatly looking forward to seeing what this year’s entries can come up with."

The closing date for National Water Week poster competition entries is Friday 7 September. The region’s winning posters will go on to compete against the best from the rest of the state, with all winners announced and prizes presented during National Water Week itself (21-27 October).

Information about the competition has been sent to primary schools and they should contact East Gippsland Water’s communications and education team on 5150 4452 with any queries.
